Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is waxing?Waxing is a physical form of semi-permanent hair removal that removes hair from the follicle. Waxing is also a form of exfoliation as it removes dead skin cells from the skin's surface.
-
Does waxing hurt?Let's face it...yes, waxing does hurt, BUT it is only temporary! Also, it will depend on your pain tolerance level. Think about what is happening during the process. Hair is being pulled out of the follicle, so during this process you will feel a stinging sensation that will last a couple of seconds. If you are very sensitive to pain try taking an Ibuprofen 45 minutes to an hour prior to your waxing appointment to help reduce the pain.
-
How long does the hair need to be?We use a waxing system that removes hair as short as 1mm which is about the size of a grain of rice. If you are currently shaving that is about 2 weeks of hair growth.
-
Can I get waxed while I'm on my period?Of course you can get waxed, however, you may be more sensitive around that time of the month.
-
What can I do to prepare for my wax appointment? In order to ensure a successful waxing experience there are a couple of things you can do at home before your appointment. 1.) Have at least 3 weeks of hair growth for the best results. 2.) Exfoliate the area 2-3x per week in between wax appointments. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and helps to prevent ingrown hairs. 3.) Wait at least 2 weeks after a facial before waxing your face.
-
Do you have an age restriction for waxing?Waxing is safe for all genders and ages, however, if you are under the age of 18 we require you to have parental/guardian consent before any waxing services are performed!
-
I'm pregnant, can I still wax?"Of course! Safety is always our first concern. As long as your Doctor has not placed you on any restrictions there is absolutely NO reason why you should not be hair free! Just let our Front Desk Coordinator know when you check in for your appointment so we can make sure you are as comfortable as can be during the waxing process.
-

How long will the results from waxing last? You can expect to be smooth and hair free for atleast 3 weeks! Remember that hair grows in 3 cycles so it may take about 3 wax appointments to get all of your hair on the same schedule. We recommend waxing every 3 weeks for optimal results. The more you wax the less hair you will have!
